No. Coaching is a collaborative, goal-oriented process designed to help clients develop skills, improve communication, strengthen relationships, increase accountability, and work toward personal growth. Coaching is not psychotherapy, counseling, psychiatric treatment, or medical care and is not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure mental health conditions.
-
No. Although I hold advanced academic training in psychology, I provide coaching services—not licensed mental health treatment. Coaching focuses on future-oriented goals, personal development, and practical strategies rather than the diagnosis or treatment of mental illness.
-
If your needs are better served through psychotherapy, psychiatric care, or another healthcare professional, I will encourage you to seek services from an appropriately licensed provider. Coaching and therapy can often complement one another, and I welcome collaboration with your treatment team when you provide written consent.
-
Coaching is not appropriate for emergencies. If you are experiencing thoughts of harming yourself or others, are in immediate danger, or are experiencing a mental health crisis, call 911 (or your local emergency services) or go to the nearest emergency department. If you are in the United States or Canada, you can also contact or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

Your privacy is important. Information shared during coaching sessions is treated confidentially to the extent permitted by law. However, because coaching is not a legally protected healthcare relationship in the same way as therapy, there may be circumstances where disclosure is required by law, such as in response to a valid court order or when there is a credible threat of serious harm to yourself or others.

My coaching practice is grounded in respect, informed consent, client autonomy, professional integrity, confidentiality, cultural humility, and evidence-informed practices. Every client is treated with dignity regardless of identity, relationship structure, gender, sexual orientation, or lifestyle.
